STOCKBRIDGE — Runners from Hillsdale, Jonesville and Pittsford High School traveled out to Stockbridge High School to participate in one of the fastest regular season invitational events in the state of Michigan. As expected, this brought career personal best times for multiple local athletes.

The Jonesville boys cross country team took third overall in team standings with a final score of 129. Leading the way was Caleb Blonde. The sophomore breakout star runner ran his first sub-16 time of his career, breaking his PR for the third time this season. He took third overall with a time of 15:48.4, also setting another school sophomore running time record for Jonesville.
Earning his seventh top 10 finish of the season was junior Nicholas Fowler, who set a new PR time of 16:40 to take 10th. Sophomore Collin Fucile set a season-best time of 17:06.6 to take 18th overall. Freshman Ashton Potwin set a new PR of 17:49.7 to take 46th. Senior Zachery Childress took 55th with a new career best time of 18:02.

Hillsdale sophomore boys runner Logan Youngman medaled in 12th place with a time of 16:50.1. Also running for the Hornet boys cross country team was senior Dominick Coke. Coke, the morning after playing a varsity football matchup, ran his first race of the season and took 86th overall with a time of 19:15.5. Freshman Payton Belisle took 106th with a time of 20:12.1. Senior Miles Brown also ran his first race of the season after the previous night’s football game, taking 125th overall with a time of 20:54.
Pittsford junior Nick Jagielski ran to a 105th finish and a time of 20:12.1, a new personal record time.

Over in the girls cross country finals, it was Hillsdale senior Chloe Stalhood leading the Hornets and local athlete results with a fifth-place finish. The 2023 all-state runner earned her sixth-straight top five finish of the season, earning a new personal best time of 18:52.4. It was her first sub-19 run of her career, beating her previous PR by nearly 18 seconds.
Also running for the Hornets was senior Cailey VanZant, earning a new personal best time of 22:49.6 to take 73rd. Junior Abby Amburgey set a new personal best time of 22:55.2 to take 74th. Junior Ava Evans took 78th with a new PR of 23:01.2. Emily York took 83rd to earn a new PR time of 23:23.6.

Three Jonesville girls cross country runners placed in the top 50 at Stockbridge. Leading the way was freshman Brynleigh Griffiths. Griffiths took 28th with a new PR of 21:12.6. Sophomore Kiera Knight took 40th with a new PR time of 21:28.1. Joleane Gulledge took 46th with a new PR time of 21:36.9. Kendahl Drake took 68th with a new PR time of 22:39.3. Julia Mandrelle took 97th with a new PR time of 24:21.9.

The Pittsford girls cross country team had the second-highest individual finish in the race. Senior Riley McCumber took 25th overall with a new season-best time of 21:03.0. Sophomore Lillian Jagielski took 60th overall with a season-best time of 22:14.9. Kaila Handy took 126th overall with a season best time of 28:11.5. Junior Kaylee Lawson took 138th with a 33:18.8.
