PASCO, Wash. — Bergstrom Aircraft will open its doors to high school students and their parents for a free aviation career night designed to showcase opportunities in the growing aviation industry.
The event, scheduled for October 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bergstrom Aircraft in Pasco, will give students the chance to meet professionals from across the aviation spectrum, from pilots and mechanics to air traffic controllers and refueling technicians.
Participants will receive hands-on experiences that include touring Bergstrom’s flight school, exploring maintenance facilities, and sitting inside training aircraft. The interactive approach aims to give students a realistic view of potential career paths in aviation.
According to organizers, the industry faces a particular challenge in attracting young talent to aircraft maintenance roles.
“Probably more critical now to try and find or establish a pool of applicants for aircraft maintenance,” said Malin Bergstrom of Bergstrom Aircraft.
The free event is open to all high school students and their parents. No registration or prior aviation experience is required. Bergstrom asks that you contact them via their Facebook post or give them a call so they can get enough supplies.
The aviation industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, creating demand for skilled workers across multiple specialties. Career opportunities range from technical positions requiring specialized training to roles that offer pathways for advancement within the field.
Students attending the career night will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to industry professionals and learn about educational requirements, salary expectations, and job prospects in various aviation careers.
The event represents part of ongoing efforts by local aviation companies to connect with the next generation of workers and address workforce needs in the region. Bergstrom Aircraft is located at 4102 N. Stearman Ave, Pasco, WA 99301
