Hamilton College’s Common Ground Program held its first session of the fall semester Monday, a conversation about U.S. Immigration Policy.
The free program featured former federal officials who worked on immigration policy and possible reforms in their careers. College officials also took time to reflect on the recent uptick in political violence across the nation.
“I know that this community can talk about difficult issues, yet I know it’s hard education should make us uncomfortable, yet being uncomfortable should not cause us harm,” said Ty Seidule, executive director of the Common Ground Program.
The Common Ground Program helps prepare students for lives of active citizenship through dialogues and discussions on campus.
