South Carolina veterans and their spouses can attend a career counseling day Sept. 16 at Segra Park and a virtual career fair on Sept. 17.
COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina veterans and their spouses will have two opportunities next week to connect with career support and job prospects through events hosted by the S.C. Department of Veterans’ Affairs and the Department of Administration.
Career Counseling Day will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Segra Park’s Club Lounge, 1640 Freed Street in Columbia. The in-person event is designed to provide expert guidance for veterans and their families as they transition into the workforce. Attendees can receive help with resumes, interviews, navigating the state hiring process, understanding benefits, and more. Registration is requested at surveymonkey.com/r/97C7PWH.
The following day, Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., a Virtual Career Fair will be held online. Veterans and their spouses will be able to speak with recruiters hiring for positions in accounting, engineering, finance, grant management, human resources, health care, information technology, maintenance, and security/law enforcement.
