COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus Public Health said between Monday and Tuesday, there was six overdose deaths reported by the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.

Columbus Public Health is warning residents that any drug not received from a pharmacy could be laced and may cause death.
Officials are also urging residents to not use drugs alone and to carry naloxone. Inidividuals can find where to get nalaxone or order naloxone by clicking here.
Columbus Public Health said if an overdose occurs, don’t leave the scene and call 911. The Good Samaritan Law is in effect.
Overdose deaths have dropped in Franklin County over recent years. Last year, there were 461 deaths, which was lower than in 2023, which had 701 deaths. So far this year, there have been 152 overdose-related deaths, according to the City of Columbus.
