(KOAM) — A local museum hosts a back-to-school event, FSCC hosts a Welcome Week for students, and MSSU students learn more about African culture.

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Kids City Museum in Joplin, which opened just a few weeks ago, hosted a successful back-to-school event over the weekend.
The indoor playground offers STEM activities for kids, including slime-making.
Teachers enjoyed free entry with a photo ID.
FORT SCOTT, Kan. — Fort Scott Community College kicked off the school year with Welcome Week.
Events began with a cookout outside the Ellis Fine Arts Center and student orientation.
Activities continue all week, including a movie night and a game night.
JOPLIN, Mo. — Professor Christine Bentley from MSSU shares that Intentional Studies major will dive into West African culture this semester through unique objects.
These 300 pieces, donated by the Finley family and Marion Keinon, showcase African occupations, figures in power, and female medical missionaries.
High school students visiting will also engage in collection care reports, enhancing their learning experience.
