BALTIMORE (WISH) — Colts safety Camryn Bynum is quickly fitting in with the Indianapolis Colts.
He was signed to a four-year, $60 million contract this offseason, after spending the first four seasons of his career with the Minnesota Vikings.
Bynum has been impressed with the culture that this Colts team has set.
“It’s a family atmosphere,” Bynum said. “That’s the one thing that stands out. Being here, everybody treats each other like family.”
Bynum credited the reaction to a fight at the Colts joint practice with the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday as an example of the family atmosphere.
“You saw the fight earlier,” he said. “One guy pushed somebody, and the whole sideline cleared. Obviously, we don’t want that, but you look at it as a good thing. After the fact, everybody is like hey, make sure you guys are being smart, but make sure you stand up for your brothers. That’s a funny story behind it but we’re all family, and that’s what you got to do. When you’re on the field, you got to look out for your brothers.”
Bynum has practicing with the starters throughout training camp. He started every game for the Vikings in his final three seasons in Minnesota.
For Bynum and the entire Colts team, being able to have the joint practice with the Ravens was important to help them prepare for the season.
“This is a team that has gone deep into the playoffs every single year, almost to the Super Bowl multiple times so being able to go against that will for sure get us ready to go for the season,” Bynum said.
He had three interceptions and 10 passes defended in 2024 with the Vikings, to go along with 96 tackles.
The Colts will play the Ravens in the preseason opener on Thursday in Baltimore. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
