Marshalltown’s diversity was on full display during the fourth annual Culture Festival on Sunday, which was held downtown for the first time. The event featured performances and traditional dances from Burma, the Dominican Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Main Street in front of the courthouse, and it was capped off with a special mariachi performance including Marshalltown Community School Disrict students. Amber Danielson of the Arts+Culture Alliance and Lucian Banakeng of JBS were the co-organizers of the performances.
