CHICO, Calif. – The City of Chico has announced the recipients of the 2025-2026 Arts and Culture Grants. This program is funded by 1% of the city’s Transient Occupancy Tax, aimed at supporting local not-for-profit arts and cultural organizations.
This year, 19 applications were submitted, and $38,442 was awarded to 16 projects. These grants help enrich Chico’s arts and culture community.
The following is a list of all of the organizations and projects that were selected:
- 1078 Gallery – $1,059.00 for the “2nd Annual Northern California Mock Cat Show”
- Chico Art Center – $2,646.00 for the “Artist Cafe” project
- Chico State Enterprises – $1,072.00 for “Nexo Entre Raíces (Nexus Between Roots) Exhibition & Visiting Artist Talk”
- Chico Theater Company – $2,646.00 for the “Roof Replacement”
- Downtown Chico Business Association – $2,646.00 for “ARTober FEST: Celebrating Art, Culture, and Community in Downtown Chico”
- Friends of the Chico Community Ballet – $2,646.00 for “A Very Chico Nutcracker 2025”
- Inspire School of Arts & Sciences – $2,646.00 for “Big Fish Design Mentorship”
- KZFR Community Radio – $2,646.00 for “Chico Speaks”
- Legacy Theatre Group (Legacy Stage) – $2,646.00 for “Shakespeare in the Park 2026”
- Little Red Hen – $2,646.00 for “The Business of Being an Artist”
- Maker Radio – $2,646.00 for “Makers Muse 2025”
- Movement Arts of Chico – $2,540.00 for “Capoeira Arts Therapy”
- Museum of Northern California Art (MONCA) – $2,370.00 for “Foyer Sound Panels”
- Pedal Press Youth Shop – $2,295.00 for the “Pedal Press Youth Shop”
- Stonewall Alliance – $2,646.00 for “To Be Seen: Uplifting LGBTQIA2S+ Art & Honoring Trans Lives Lost”
- Upstate Community Enhancement Foundation – $2,646.00 for “Chico Fab Lab Fundamentals Community Workshop”
