Some changes are coming to the City of Sheboygan’s visitor center.
The Sheboygan Common Council recently unanimously approved a General Development Plan and Specific Implementation Plan submitted by Abacus Architects to design and construct site additions at Visit Sheboygan.
These additions will total approximately 10,000 square feet and include a series of outdoor learning experiences aimed at children and students.
Items featured in the approved proposal from Abacus include a solar tree and table, a greenhouse, and a bio-filtration pond and rain garden, among other landscaping and beautification upgrades.
At this time, no timeline has been provided regarding when work may get underway at the visitor center; however, the first course of action for the City and Abacus will be to implement their proposed grading plan and any utility work, such as stormwater plans, which have been required by the Common Council in order for the project to begin.
