ANN ARBOR, MI – It’s been a year since Ann Arbor School Board members OK’d Jazz Parks’ first official contract for the superintendent job, and so far, both she and the board’s leading trustee say things have been going well.
Parks first stepped into the role on an interim basis, replacing former Ann Arbor Public Schools official Jeanice Swift, in November 2023, formally taking the mantle months later while the district grappled with a $25 million budget shortfall, a depleted fund balance, staff layoffs and other challenges.
