WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The University of Central Missouri (UCM) approved two fiscal year budgets and made departmental changes among other decisions at the Board of Governors meeting on June 13.
For the fiscal year of 2026, UCM addressed enrollment declines by eliminating 36 long-term vacant roles, saving $2.3 million. The board also made two major funding requests to the state for 2027, totaling $73.5 million for institutional needs.
Additions to UCM’s education program of marketing education and journalism education were approved.
As a part of their plan to support operations and student experience, the Governors approved the removal of a grain shed at Mitchell Street Farm, the purchase of a new aircraft for the aviation department and the replacement of field lighting at Audrey J. Walton Stadium.
