WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – There is a ton to do this last weekend of June in Whatcom County. This week’s Lifestyle Lookout features tastings, garden tours, vibrant colors and some great live music.

The road to Artist Point will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, June 27. There’s still a good deal of snow at the top, so use caution if you head up to take in the views. The Heather Meadows Visitor Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily as well.

Once the snow melts, head up to Heather Meadows, Lake Ann and Artist Point for some spectacular summer hiking.

If you are looking to taste some wine, beer and/or spirits this weekend, you are in luck. Downtown Distilled runs Saturday, June 28 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in downtown Ferndale.

It is an opportunity to explore the businesses along Main St. while tasting craft beverages from local produces, listening to live music and enjoying some of the tasty food from the restaurants and bars in the area.

Tickets for Downtown Distilled range from $30 to $50 and come with drink tickets, a tote bag and a commemorative tasting glass. For tickets and all the details, go to downtowndistilled.com.

We have a couple great outdoor events happening this weekend in Bellingham.

The 2025 Bellingham Holi Festival is Saturday at Boulevard Park. A celebration of the Indian festival of Holi, this all-ages event invites participants to throw vibrant colors, meet neighbors and play in the warm sunshine at one of Bellingham’s most iconic parks.

Powder will be available on site and the colors are eco-friendly. Plus, there will be a DJ, food trucks and all the joy that comes along with celebrating Holi.

Organizers say participants should wear white colors that they don’t mind getting “colorful.”

The Bellingham Holi Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For all the details, follow the Holi Festival on Facebook.

Have you ever walked by someone’s beautiful garden and had to resist the urge to take a personal tour? Well, now you can.

The Whatcom Horticultural Society is hosting the 35th Annual Tour of Private Gardens on Saturday.

Property owners at five Bellingham locations are opening their gardens to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. From a cottage-style garden that connects three homes, to a tapestry of trees and shrubs on a south hill slope, this is an opportunity to explore some of Bellingham’s best-kept secret gardens and appreciate the work of local horticulturalists.

For a map of the locations and to buy tickets, go to whatcomhortsociety.org.

We have two featured shows for you in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.

The All’s Eye will bring their brand of jam to the Shakedown on Friday night, June 27. They will explore rock through the lens of bluegrass, reggae and psychedelic jazz. Fans of Medeski Martin and Wood, Phish and the Allman Brothers don’t want to miss this one.

Opening for The All’s Eye is local Ween tribute band Poopship Destroyer. The show starts at 9 p.m. For tickets, go to shakedownbellingham.com.

If you are a fan of darker music, there is someone unique happening at the Lookout Arts Quarry this weekend.

That Devil Music offers two nights of punk rock, heavy metal, surf rock and more on Friday and Saturday. Daikaiju, Witch Agony, Vaulderie and Woods Witch are all performing along with local rockers Energy Pyramid.

For a full look at the schedule and to buy tickets, go to thatdevilmusicfestival.com.
