More than 60 students attended the panel made up of a mix of judges and attorneys, including several alumni, working in government, private firms and nonprofits in small towns across the state.
“We wanted representatives from a variety of small town practice settings so that students could be exposed to a variety of career paths,” said Assistant Dean of Career and Professional Development Mallory Underwood. “It’s a really great way for students to learn and get access to people who can help connect them to job opportunities in areas where attorneys are needed.”

Professors Richard Waugaman ‘12 and Jon Powell ‘98, who encouraged their classes to attend the event, were also present.
“Networking is one of the most effective ways for students to get summer and post graduate jobs,” Underwood added. “It is also the best way to learn about different practice settings and practice areas. That’s why we host events like this.”
