Now that’s a prom students won’t likely forget.
LOUISIANA, USA — Prom season always brings surprises, but this moment? Straight out of a movie.
Editor’s Note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that the celebrity appearance occurred at Fairfax High School in Virginia. It actually took place at a school in Louisiana.
Over the weekend, students were dancing, snapping selfies, and soaking in the usual prom night magic—until it became anything but usual. Out of nowhere, in walked none other than Benny Blanco.
Yes, that Benny Blanco — the Grammy-nominated music producer behind hits with Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, and Halsey. The Reston, Virginia-raised hitmaker. The South Lakes High School alum who went from Northern Virginia hallways to Hollywood studios.
Blanco strolled into the Louisiana school unannounced. Gasps, screams, and a wave of phones shot into the air as students realized who had just joined their prom.
And he didn’t just wave and dip. Benny took over the DJ booth, dropping beats and playing tracks that kept the dance floor packed.
In a video posted to social media, Blanco is seen rushing from a car, shouting:
“Alright, guys, we’re about to surprise Fairfax High School. I’m 15 minutes late. We gotta go right now. Let’s f–king go, go, go, go, go, go!”
The name-drop caused early confusion, leading many (including us) to believe he was headed to Fairfax High School in Virginia. But nope, it was a high school in Louisiana that got the ultimate celeb cameo.
The camera pans out to a sea of teens dancing to Selena Gomez’s “Bluest Flame” as Blanco mans the DJ stand. Some fans even called the move romantic, noting his engagement to Gomez.
Where’s he headed next? Who knows. But one thing’s clear: Benny Blanco just made prom season unforgettable for one lucky school.
