February 13, 2025

[OTTAWA, CANADA] — [February 13, 2025] — Today, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce unveiled the 2025 Business 7 (B7)’s overarching theme: “Bolstering Economic Security and Resiliency,” which will anchor all its B7 activities throughout 2025. In a time marked by global uncertainty and rapid geopolitical change, this focus reflects the B7 business organizations’ collective commitment to safeguard economic stability while building a more resilient global economy.

As G7 countries face unprecedented threats to our shared economic security, Canada’s B7 presidency is about addressing the concrete impacts of uncertainty for business and developing a roadmap to resilience. The Canadian Chamber is honoured to host the 2025 B7 Summit and facilitate collaboration among G7 business leaders. The critical role of business in directly supporting peoples’ livelihoods and a positive future for communities has never been clearer.

  • Candace Laing, President and CEO of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, and President of the 2025 B7

Economic security will not only act as the central focus for the B7 Summit program held May 14–16 in Ottawa but will also guide the policy recommendations contained in the 2025 B7 Communiqué. Underlying policy pillars include promoting rules-based global trade, realizing the promise of responsible AI and digital, and creating the conditions for a business-led energy transition. The commitment to unity and inclusive growth among G7 business groups underpins these priority areas.

The theme, its key pillars, and related recommendations are the result of extensive and ongoing consultations with B7 organizations representing all G7 countries, B7 2025 partners, Canadian Chamber members, and other key stakeholders.

Thirty-two corporate partners have signed on to support the work of the Canadian Chamber’s B7 presidency, representing a variety of sectors, including health sciences, technology, energy, mining, transportation, finance, consulting, agriculture and more.

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is the official Knowledge Partner of the 2025 B7, playing a key role in supporting the development of the B7 Communiqué and its policy recommendations. The Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA), Microsoft and AWS are B7 Premier Partners, while Roche, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP), Google, and The Mosaic Company are Gold Partners.

To further guide B7 programming and policy work, a B7 Canada Executive Advisory Group (EAG) was formed, and includes leaders from the aforementioned organizations and other key Canadian business leaders.

A full list of sponsors, as well as the Executive Advisory Group members, is now available on our website.
