Alzheimer’s is among the leading causes of death in the United States. More than 120,000 Hoosiers have been diagnosed. Leaders of the walk say the disease affects millions more.
“It affects so many individuals—not only those who have the diagnosis or those we’ve lost to the disease but also their family members and friends,” said Shelly Amerman, chair of the executive leadership team for the Alzheimer’s Association.
The walk takes place Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Registration starts at 9 a.m., with the walk stepping off at 9:45 a.m. It’s free to attend. You can learn how to get involved by clicking here.
