Hosted by broadcaster Adnan Virk and former NHL defenseman Jason Demers, this weekly show explores a wide range of hockey topics while also diving into other intriguing subjects, giving listeners a fresh and engaging perspective.
“What is he on right now? Is he on the steak and beef tallow? Or is he doing a kettlebell circuit, or is he doing cartwheels?” asked Jason Demers of the NHL Unscripted Podcast.
Former NHL player Jason Demers turned to Jakob Chychrun’s teammate, Dylan Strome, for the latest scoop on the defenseman. While Strome admitted he wasn’t entirely sure about Chychrun’s current routine, his answer still took Demers by surprise. “I heard yesterday that he doesn’t have any light bulbs. He’s doing candlelight in his house now,” said Strome.
Jakob Chychrun set the record straight while chatting with Grant Paulsen and Danny Rouhier on 106.7 The Fan. “This guy just completely threw me under the bus,” the 26-year-old said, amused by how his teammate described his healthy practice. “I told the boys, the last few nights after dinner, we like to turn the lights off in the house and do no artificial light and just light some candles,” said the defenseman.
Chychrun took the lighthearted misunderstanding in stride, explaining that his practice of avoiding artificial light in the evenings was simply a way to relax and improve sleep quality. “It’s nothing crazy—I just like to wind down naturally,” he clarified.
