Meghan Markle will launch her long-awaited American Riviera Orchard brand in just a few weeks’ time in select stores in America, it has been reported.
The first of the American Riviera Orchard stands will open in early March in two of America’s biggest retail centres, owned by one her employers, streaming giant, Netflix.
The Daily Mail reports the stands will open in the King of Prussia Mall in Philadelphia and the giant Dallas Galleria in Dallas, Texas.
Products will be sold under her brand name, including jam, honey and olive oil, and the timing of the brand launch is significant as it could match up with the launch of her delayed Netflix show, ‘With Love, Meghan’ due to air on March 4.
Netflix House is an experimental entertainment venue that brings their beloved titles to life. A source told the Daily Mail: “Netflix is expanding and growing all the time and Netflix House is a natural progression. Meghan’s products will be in there alongside shirts and merchandise from some of the biggest shows on the planet.”
A source told the Daily Mail: “This is make or break for Meghan”.
They added: “Her new show is rolling out the same time as the Netflix stores open. The Netflix stores will offer products and merchandise from all their biggest shows like Squid Game and Stranger Things.
They continued: “This is a big move for Netflix. The first stores are in repurposed department stores inside two of America’s largest malls. They will contain an onsite cafe so Meghan’s products like her strawberry jam will be featured on the menu too.”
The couple’s multi-million five-year Netflix deal expires later this year and commentators are unsure if it will be renewed.
Meghan ‘soft launched’ her American Rivera Orchard brand on Instagram last year and sent hand-labeled samples of her strawberry jam to friends including actress Mindy Kaling who features in ‘With Love, Meghan’, and polo player Nacho Figueras who shared pictures of himself sampling her jam on social media.
Describing Meghan’s new show, Netflix stated: “Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection, and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected.
“She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.”
The show was previously rumoured to be a cookery show, but will reportedly hardly feature any cooking recipes and will instead offer ideas on how to be the “perfect hostess”, according to sources.
A source also added that Prince Harry is “barely glimpsed” and “barely mentioned” in the show and it’s “all about” Meghan.
