The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 22 – 28, 2024. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
- Traffic Stop/Arrest – 5th Street/6th Street – Vehicle stopped due to the registered owner having an active warrant. The subject placed under arrest for his active warrant for violation of probation of out Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Passenger was placed under arrest for Poss. of Sch ll and Drug Related Objects. Both were transported to WCSO Jail without incident.
- Domestic call – Gliding Lane – In reference to three subjects in a polyamous relationship were all involved in a physical altercation after one was called dumb. One subject was placed under arrest for the following charges: Battery FVA, Misdemeanor obstruction, Cruelty to children 3rd degree, and disorderly conduct. Warrants obtained, fingerprinted and turned over WCSO jail. Report taken and victim notification form was filled out.
- Juvenile Runaway – Tall Oaks Drive – In reference to a 15-year-old juvenile leaving the home after a verbal disagreement. Juvenile returned shortly after; his welfare was checked.
- Traffic Stop – East Highland Ave; Will Henry’s – Vehicle stopped due no valid insurance. Driver cited and vehicle towed by Taylors.
- EMS Assist – Bryant Road – In reference to CPR in progress. Female was transported to Piedmont by EMS. Dispatch later advised she passed away. Coroner notified.
- Suspicious Person – North Broad Street/ Bold Springs Ave – In reference to subject riding his bike on the side of the road with no lights. Verbal warning given.
- Dispute call – Atha St.- In reference to a named subject attempting to break down a door to a bedroom. He was placed under arrest for criminal trespass and misdemeanor obstruction and fingerprinted. Warrants obtained; report taken. The subject was turned over to WCSO jail.
- Other Law – S Broad St. – In reference to the homeowner’s dog getting loose. The homeowner was unable to get the dog back inside due to her and the dog both having disabilities. The dog was returned inside.
- Suspicious Vehicle – In reference to Newton County EMS calling about a white pick up truck following directly behind them while running code, the white pick up truck discontinued following them well before the city limits. Turned over to the County
- Welfare Check – Harris St – In reference to NE Medical attempting to contact a patient’s relative. Contact made with relative.
- Dispute – Double Springs MAHS – In reference to a third party calling stating they heard arguing at the high school from the student parking lot. Upon Arrival suspects gone but were located on Charlotte Rowell and stated they had a verbal dispute but were 10-4 now.
- Warrant Attempt/Arrest) 530 Booth Drive – Male suspect taken into custody. Transported to Walton County Jail.
- Fraud Report – S. Broad St. – In reference to Complainant reporting her information was stolen and used at AT&T with a bill of $1235. Report taken case card given.
- Juvenile Problem – 4th St. – In reference to three teenage juvenile males riding/walking down the street of 4th St. and 4th St. Lane. Complainant just wanted to report the suspicious activity due to her having bikes stolen in the past.
- Theft – 4th St – In reference to a theft report of a bike. No serial number available. Report taken case card given
- Traffic Stop – West Fambrough Street – Male subject was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant out of WCSO.
- Alarm – E Spring St; FISH – In reference to an alarm in the office area of the business. Contact was made with employees on location, who advised that the area had just been locked up. Area was checked on foot, and contact was made with subject on location. He was given permission to be on location by owner.
- Suspicious Person – N Broad/E Spring- In reference to Complainant stating that subject was stalking her. Remedies were advised.
- Traffic Stop/Arrest – S Hammond Dr / Baker St – In reference to traffic stop for no tag light. Female driver was arrested for driving without a valid license.
- Threats – Kingsridge Dr – In reference to juvenile receiving threatening messages on Snapchat. No messages meeting the definition of a threat were found or seen. Report completed and remedies advised.
- Suspicious Vehicle – Pavilion Pkwy; Five Guys Burger – In reference to a vehicle parked on location for 2 hours. Contact was made; the subjects were eating dinner on the tailgate of the vehicle. All ok.
- Mental Person – Stonecreek Bnd – In reference to the complainant believing that her ex- boyfriend put hidden cameras in the smoke detectors. Complainant has a history of mental illness, and remedies were advised.
- Suicide Attempt – Knight St: In reference to subject being emotionally distraught over the death of her daughter. She made statements of not wanting to live. It was advised that she wanted to take all of her pills (Alprazolam). A 1013 was obtained over the phone through Advantage. Subject was transported to Advantage in Athens without incident.
