BROOKVILLE — The Brookville school board reorganization meeting retained the previous leadership and instituted a new education committee on Wednesday.
Superintendent Dr. Erich May opened the meeting with nominations to appoint a temporary president and board secretary. Luc Doolittle and Maggie Conti were nominated and appointed for temporary president and secretary, respectively.
Doolittle opened nominations for president. Robert Victor nominated Chris Rhoades to serve again as board president. There were no other nominations, and Herb McConnell made a motion to appoint Rhoades as president, seconded by Amanda Mignogna. The motion passed.
Doolittle then opened nominations for board vice president. Mignogna nominated Erin Schiafone to serve again as vice president. Justin Ransel nominated Victor to serve. The nominations were closed and Schiafone was appointed as vice president via roll call vote 4-3, with Doolittle, Mignogna, Zach Petak and Schiafone voting for Schiafone, and Herb McConnell, Justin Ransel and Victor voting for Victor. Rhoades and Roger Lays were absent for the vote.
The board voted to establish an education committee 4-3, with Victor, Ransel, McConnell and Mignogna voting yes and Doolittle, Petak and Schiafone voting no. Rhoades and Lays were absent for the vote.
