HIAWATHA, Iowa — High school students and families explored future education and career paths at the Future Ready Career and College Fair on March 30 at the Kirkwood Hotel & Conference Center.
Hosted by ICAN, the event featured representatives from over 100 colleges, universities, apprenticeship programs, military branches, and career organizations.
Attendees connected with more than 80 educational institutions and nearly 20 business and industry leaders. Experts provided guidance on scholarships, financial aid, and career planning.
The fair, which was free to the public, offered students the chance to streamline information-sharing through StriveScan barcodes. ICAN recommends students prepare for future fairs by bringing transcripts, resumes, and a list of questions for representatives.
The event was supported by the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, Greater Iowa City, Inc., Kirkwood Community College, Iowa Farm Bureau, and Iowa Building Trades. More resources for future planning can be found at www.ICANsucceed.org/futurereadyfair.
