ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) — The Wisconsin National Guard invited potential recruits Monday to learn about opportunities to serve their state and country at the Onalaska Armory.
The “Meet the Guard” Career Day offered visitors a chance to explore military equipment and speak directly with active Guard members about their experiences.
The event specifically targeted high school students and young adults who are interested in military service but also want to maintain civilian careers and education.
Zachary Lichucki, a recruiter for the Wisconsin Army National Guard, explained the purpose of Monday’s event.
“The goal here today is to just showcase to the public kind of what the Guard does, what we have to offer, and the benefits available to individuals that want to serve their state and country proudly here in the Wisconsin Army National Guard,” Lichucki said.
The event provided an opportunity for those considering military service to get firsthand information about the benefits and what service in the Guard entails.
