VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – More than $40,000 in grant money will be split among 17 schools in Vigo County.
The money will support activities ranging from author visits to theater productions.
The Vigo County Education Foundation made the announcement Friday morning at its Business and Bagels event. Business and Bagels is a bi-annual get-together with local leaders in education.
News 10 spoke with the principal of Benjamin Franklin Elementary School, where the event was hosted. She shared how money received in the past has helped the school.
“We have a vending machine for books that students earn coins by either improving grades or attending daily… and just being great citizens of our school,” said Principal Tina Horrall.
Also, at the event, Indiana State University was recognized for its longtime support of the Vigo County Education Foundation.
