VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The Victor Elementary School District (VESD) recently hosted its 18th Annual Maintenance and Operations Career Days, offering students an exciting, hands-on introduction to careers in skilled trades.
Held at the Mike Eckert Maintenance and Operations Facility, this event gave fifth-grade students a behind-the-scenes look at essential careers in plumbing, electrical work, technology, carpentry, and more—industries that keep schools and communities thriving.
At VESD, career exploration starts early, and Career Days are a key part of the district’s commitment to introducing students to a wide range of career pathways. Through interactive activities and real-world learning experiences, students had the opportunity to explore different professions, discover their interests, and develop essential skills for the future.

During the event, students rotated through engaging stations led by various VESD departments, including groundskeeping, custodial services, nutrition services, welding, warehouse operations, and transportation.
Each station provided a hands-on learning experience, allowing students to see professionals in action and understand how their work contributes to the daily operations of a school. The interactive presentations sparked curiosity and excitement, with many students leaving inspired—some even discovering new career aspirations along the way.
Career Days are just one of the many ways VESD helps students build a strong foundation for success. By integrating career education across all grade levels, the district ensures that students are not only prepared for their future but also empowered to explore the many opportunities ahead.
