Trump rips Harvard for hiring Bill de Blasio, Lori Lightfoot

President Trump on Wednesday ripped Harvard University for hiring “Leftist dopes” Bill de Blasio and Lori Lightfoot as lecturers — arguing that the Ivy League school’s employment record is proof that it’s a “joke” and should be stripped of federal funds.

The commander-in-chief blasted Harvard’s decision to employ the former mayors of New York City and Chicago in the wake of their local government stints, insisting they would only be capable of “teaching failure.”

“Everyone knows that Harvard has ‘lost its way’,” Trump raged in a fiery Truth Social post early Wednesday.

“They hired, from New York (Bill D) and Chicago (Lori L), at ridiculously high salaries/fees, two of the WORST and MOST INCOMPETENT mayors in the history of our Country, to ‘teach’ municipal management and government.

“These two Radical Left fools left behind two cities that will take years to recover from their incompetence and evil. Harvard has been hiring almost all woke, Radical Left, idiots and ‘birdbrains’ who are only capable of teaching FAILURE to students and so-called ‘future leaders.’”

The elite Cambridge, Mass., school hired de Blasio as a teaching fellow at the university’s schools of government and public health in 2022 after his Big Apple mayoral term ended.

Meanwhile, Lightfoot — who served as Chicago’s mayor from 2019 to 2023 — was employed as a teaching fellow at the university’s school of public health for the 2023 fall semester.

“Many others, like these Leftist dopes, are teaching at Harvard, and because of that, Harvard can no longer be considered even a decent place of learning, and should not be considered on any list of the World’s Great Universities or Colleges,” Trump continued.

“Harvard is a JOKE, teaches Hate and Stupidity, and should no longer receive Federal Funds.”

The president’s rant came soon after the federal government revealed it was freezing more than $2.2 billion in grants and $60 million in contracts to Harvard after the institution said it would defy the Trump administration’s demands to curtail antisemitism on campus.

In a letter to Harvard last Friday, Trump officials had called for reforms for student discipline policies, as well as changes to its admissions policies.

It also demanded the university audit views of diversity on campus and stop recognizing some student clubs.

Still, Harvard president Alan Garber on Monday announced the university would not bow to the government’s demands.

“The University will not surrender its independence or relinquish its constitutional rights,” Garber said.

“No government — regardless of which party is in power — should dictate what private universities can teach, whom they can admit and hire, and which areas of study and inquiry they can pursue.”

Hours later, the government froze billions in Harvard’s federal funding.
