Thousands Attend the Great Indian Food & Shopping Festival at City Center Bishop Ranch
TheGreat Indian Food and Shopping Fest (TGIFS) delivered a vibrant blend of food, shopping, music, and cultural festivities to the heart of San Ramon on Saturday, May 10. Organized by the Association of Indo Americans (AIA) and co-sponsored by Bolly 92.3 FM.
The festival was a colorful celebration of Indian culture, drawing people from across the Bay Area. AIA extends its heartfelt thanks to the City of San Ramon, City Center Bishop Ranch, all community partners, sponsors, vendors, and well-wishers whose support made the event an overwhelming success.
Festival Highlights:
- Over 100+ shopping booths featuring apparel, jewelry, art, décor, and local businesses
- A delicious Indian food fest with 20+ food booths serving everything from biryani and dosas to jalebi, chats and mango lassi
- A buzzing Mango Festival, showcasing India’s favorite fruit in juices, desserts, and fresh varieties
- Carnival rides, games, and the MayaBazaar Express train ride for kids and families
- Nonstop cultural programs, DJ music, and live performances by EBK Musical
- A special Mom & Me Fashion Show celebrating Mother’s Day
Attendees were also thrilled by the appearance of beloved characters like Chhota Bheem, who interacted with kids and added to the festive spirit.

In his remarks, Dr. Reddy commended AIA for bringing together diverse communities and promoting grassroots entrepreneurship aligned with India’s “One District – One Product” initiative. Mayor Armstrong and other dignitaries praised the event’s smooth execution and community impact.
“We’re proud to create an inclusive platform that celebrates Indian culture, supports local businesses, and offers families a free, fun day out,” said an AIA organizer. “This was a true community collaboration with the City of San Ramon, Bishop Ranch, and our amazing volunteers.”
