With a focus on Stone Town’s potential designation as a Creative City of Gastronomy, the talks highlighted the cultural and economic benefits that this recognition could bring to the region. Established in 2004, the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) honors cities that use culture and creativity to foster sustainable development, elevating them to global hubs of innovation and cultural exchange.
The meeting brought together Mr. Michel Toto, UNESCO’s Head of Office and Country Representative, Her Excellency Tone Tinnes, Ambassador of the Royal Norwegian Embassy, with Hon. Masoud Ali Mohammed, Minister of State in the President’s Office for Regional Administration, Local Government, and Special Departments.
