David James Stuart to perform Modern Ancient Music Guitar Recital at Haley Art Gallery
KITTERY, Maine – Haley Art Gallery invites the public to Modern Ancient Music Guitar Recital –a solo guitar concert by David James Stuart, featuring original compositions and transcriptions. Art & Ogres: Paintings for a Purpose art show and ‘Shrek the Musical’ at The Rep
PORTSMOUTH — Local watercolor artist Dr. Marc Bard is hosting the 6th annual Paintings for a Purpose art show at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre (The Rep) in downtown Portsmouth. Community members are invited to the launch party Thursday, July 10 in lobby of The Rep. Attendees can view and purchase local New Hampshire-inspired artwork. Later that same evening, ‘Shrek the Musical’ will be performed in the theatre at 7:30 p.m.
The art show will remain on display at the theater until the end of July. All are welcome to stop in during the opening reception or during business hours at The Rep to view and purchase art. All proceeds from the event will support the organization’s mission of enriching the culture of the community through the shared experience of live theatre.

Django By the Sea Festival 10th Anniversary celebration
KITTERY, Maine — Seacoast performing arts venue, The Dance Hall, celebrates the 10th anniversary of its annual Django By the Sea Festival, which pays homage to the legacy of Romani guitarist and composer Django Reinhardt, with a weekend of concerts, jam sessions, and family activities. The 10th anniversary celebration will take place from Oct. 3-5, at The Dance Hall, 7 Walker St., Kittery Maine.
Django By the Sea Festival, returning for a 10th year, is a captivating and family-friendly celebration of swing music from around the world, nestled in the picturesque town of Kittery, Maine. This vibrant music festival attracts musicians from across the globe and additionally celebrates local talent. Headlining this year’s festival are New York City’s finest traditional jazz players, The EarRegulars. Formed by John-Erik Kelso and Matt Munistieri, they play swinging, melodic classic jazz, i.e. everything from New Orleans style through the tin pan alley classics, the swing era, and mainstream jazz. The lineup also includes performances by the renowned jazz manouche ensemble, Rhythm Future Quartet and power couple Matt + Atla DeChamplain with an elegant piano/vocal duo swinging their way through the AmericanSongbook. Programs begin Friday night and run through Sunday Afternoon.

Subscriptions now on sale for Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra 28th season
PORTSMOUTH — Ticket subscriptions for the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra’s 2025-2026 Main Stage season are now on sale. The PSO’s 28th season opens with “Classically Romantic” on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 3 p.m. at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, and on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m. at York Community Auditorium in York, Maine.
The 2025-2026 season continues with “American Voices” on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at 3 p.m. and “Tragic Pathos” on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at 3 p.m. The PSO’s will also be performing two Family Holiday Pops! concerts, which will be held on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025 at York Community Auditorium and Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025 at Portsmouth High School, both at 3 p.m.
Season subscriptions offer patrons the opportunity to save up to 35% off individual ticket prices while being able to secure the same seats at The Music Hall, pay just one box office fee for the season, and gain early access to tickets for the PSO’s special celebrity concerts.
2025-2026 subscription prices for adult tickets are $110 for three concerts with a choice of location (Portsmouth or York) for the fall concert, “Classically Romantic,” and the option to add-on one of the Family Holiday Pops! performances for an additional $35 per ticket.
New this season, the PSO is also offering a $50 VIP add-on option that, in addition to standard subscriber benefits, offers reserved seating at all concerts at York Community Auditorium and Portsmouth High School, invitations to special events throughout the year including post-concert receptions, and two complimentary tickets for family and friends throughout the season.
