Wednesday, December 18th, at the Rim of the World School Board meeting, the Rim Education Foundation awarded a total of $25,000 to schools in the Rim District. Rim of the World Educational Foundation’s mission is to raise funds to support high quality educational programs that enhance student achievement. All applications were vetted and reviewed by the Rim Educational Foundation.
A summary of funding is as follows:
Charles Hoffman Elementary received $2,543.56 for new books for the library, Blast Foundation Kits, and Kindergarten Kits.
RVA was awarded, for Action Plan Poster, Action Plan Wallet Card, and Social – Emotional Learning and Life Skill Cards for Teens.
Mountain High School was awarded a total $ 3,339.42. for equipment and materials for a school garden; Portables Lap Desks, $184.99 per student reference books Class Set of the One and Only.
Valley of Enchantment Elementary received a total of $ 7,932.53 for Active Floor which is an interactive floor consists of three main elements: 1. Ceiling-mounted installation box with a projector and computer 2. Camera that tracks movement 3. White vinyl floor that makes up the foundation of your interactive play area.
Rim High School received a total $4,911.01. for an EBSCO scholarly article subscription, $ 3261.00 for all subjects, “Pathful” (Virtual Job Shadow) subscription $ 4,750.00 for career exploration.
Mary Putman Henck received a total $4,911.00, for Empower 6th grade Science, $ 2,474.43 to upgrade Science Labs with 30 microscopes, enhance and replaced very old PE Equipment
Since 2010, The Rim Educational Foundation has awarded approximately $750, 000 to the District to support enhancement of the educational experiences of our Rim students. Many employees donate by having a certain amount deducted from their monthly payroll checks; others have given us a donation at various times.
The announced AVID awards for Rim High, $20,000, and for Mary Putnam Henck, $5000, were met with cheers of appreciation that both schools received funds.
San Manuel Band of Mission Indians donated $25,000 for two years for AVID and Partnership with Schools. Burrtec donated $10,000, (Burrtec also donated last year); Amazon donated $5000, two years in a row and Supervisor Rowe awarded $5,000.
Jo Bonita Rains, president, Rim of the World Educational Foundation said, “As volunteers, our pay back is seeing our Rim USD students learn, demonstrate confidence, and plan for their future.” As far as School Board meeting go, this one was a holiday special, and congratulations to all the members of the Rim Educational Foundation for their commitment to our students and high-quality education!

As volunteers, our pay back is seeing our Rim USD students learn, demonstrate confidence and plan for their future.”
