A new place to show off Arizona’s cultural diversity has been launched at Terminal 3 of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
Last week, Phoenix unveiled the Culture Corner as part of a yearlong celebration of the 90th anniversary of purchasing the airport.
The airport’s Misty Cisneros-Contreras says the corner will feature activities like live art, crafts and readings.
“There will be information at the Culture Corner, interesting tidbits and facts about the cultures that we are sharing about and so they can learn that way as well,” Cisneros-Contreras said.

This past Friday, the corner debuted, featuring the Taipei community. Travelers could come and have their name written in Mandarin in calligraphy and make children’s hats.
“We recognize that the airport is not the designated location where someone would think to go to learn about a various cultures,” Cisneros-Contreras said. “We’re giving our guests the opportunity to learn a little something interesting about a culture here and take that information with them on their way.”
Organizations interested in participating can contact Culture Corner staff.
