Injuries don’t mean the same thing to different players. It’s a matter of where guys are fixated on the Philadelphia Eagles‘ depth chart. Take Zack Baun, for instance. He has certainly lived on both sides of the roster’s spectrum, but he has gone from the outhouse to the penthouse.
Had he missed this much time because of injury last year at training camp, he would have never found his way onto the 53-man roster. This time around, everyone is ‘being careful’ because the Eagles know they need their All-Pro linebacker.

Welcome to summertime practices, and welcome to joint workouts vs. the Cleveland Browns. Before the second session, we learned about injuries. AJ Brown (hamstring, Landon Dickerson (knee), Lane Johnson (rest), Kenyon Green (shoulder), and Lewis Cine (groin) all sat out on Thursday.
Three of those guys are shoo-ins to make the roster. For the other two, being forced to sit out is the worst thing that could have happened. Before Philadelphia and Cleveland took the field to get some work in, head coach Nick Sirianni sat with the media and provided a few answers.

Spending about 14 minutes with the Philadelphia media, he discussed A.J. Brown’s recent absences after participating in the open practice. He also dished a little on the quandary at the left guard position.
As the Eagles begin their second joint practice with Cleveland, we are three weeks from the regular-season opener. Fingers are crossed that Landon Dickerson will be ready.
As far as A.J. Brown goes, this is still being treated like a ‘precaution’. We’ll certainly let you know if that changes.
