Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) has been making moves this school year–from setting a record graduation rate to pioneering a $2M innovation space at a local middle school. Now, it’s being recognized for its career academies.
Every year, the NAF (National Academy Foundation) recognizes schools as Distinguished Academies according to the NAF career academy model, providing students with: industry-specific curricula, work-based learning experiences, and relationships with business professionals.
This year, the public school system led the nation with a total of 51 NAF Distinguished career academies and three Model career academies. It added six new academies to its list of Distinguished NAF Career Academies.
One of the recognized schools is Coral Gables Senior High, which received the title for its finance career program.
