ROCHESTER, Minn.– The Lotus Health Foundation celebrated its 7th anniversary with the 7th Annual Community of Wellness Symposium and Gala on April 17-18, 2025, at the Mayo Civic Center. The two-day event focused on empowering individuals to take control of their health through lifestyle medicine principles.
The symposium featured experts from neurology, cardiology, endocrinology, podiatry, nutrition, energy medicine, vascular, and internal medicine. Topics included brain health, hormonal health, diabetes management, food addiction, nutrition, exercise, and emotional health.
Interactive experiences included “Walk With A Doc,” morning meditation, sound bathing, stretching, and networking sessions. Plant-based meals inspired by presenter recipes were also provided.
Founder and President Mei Liu emphasized the importance of community effort in achieving true health, noting that “lifestyle medicine” is still a relatively new term. Washington D.C. podcaster Chuck Carroll hosted a session on his weight loss journey, discussing overcoming self-created barriers to achieve weight loss goals.
The event also included community leaders and businesses sharing their practices in embracing and promoting lifestyle medicine. A local chef demonstrated healthy eating, and a sound bowl healing master conducted a session. Discussions also addressed improving access to healthy foods in underserved communities.
Healthcare professionals could earn 1.6 Continuing Education Units through Winona State University by attending the full event.
