The University of Kansas has the best online program in the nation for educators who want to receive a master’s degree in special education programs, according to new rankings from U.S. News and World Report.
The publication also found that three other online graduate programs at KU are among the top 10 nationally in their fields.
The School of Education garnered the most 10 rankings among all KU schools and departments. In addition to the No. 1 ranking for the special education program, the school also ranked No. 2 in the broad category of online master’s in education programs and No. 10 for its online master’s degree in curriculum and instruction programs. In the speciality category of best online master’s programs for military veterans, KU ranked No. 1 in the country for its education programs.
“These national rankings reflect the strength of our academic programs, the dedication of our faculty and staff, and KU’s commitment to student success,” said Rick Ginsberg, dean of the education school. “We’re proud to see KU recognized across disciplines for excellence and impact.”
KU’s School of Business also garnered a top 10 ranking in a highly competitive field. KU’s online MBA program ranked No. 8 in the country, and the university received a No. 5 ranking in the category of best online MBA programs for military veterans.
This was the fourth consecutive year that KU’s online MBA program has been ranked in the top 10 by U.S. News & World Report, according to the university.
“Our consistent top-tier ranking highlights KU’s role as a leader and innovator in online business education,” said Adi Masli, associate dean of graduate programs at the KU School of Business. “This acknowledgment affirms that we are delivering a rigorous, flexible program that empowers working professionals and military-affiliated students to advance their careers.”
Outside of the top 10, KU’s online master’s in educational administration ranked No. 13 nationally, and KU’s online master’s in engineering programs ranked No. 58.
The U.S. News & World Report staff ranks the best online graduate programs each winter, while releasing broader rankings on best graduate schools each spring and best colleges each fall.
