Those who attended the 2025 SAG Awards were treated to a Gossip Girl reunion, sparking rumours of a comeback.
Ceremony host Kristen Bell revived her iconic voiceover for the show to share some not-so-hot news with the audience for a skit.
“Hey, everyone, Gossip Girl here,” she began. “One of my sources, LeMee86, sends me this: ‘Spotted at Table 8: Jeff Goldblum has a Wicked appetite. And a peek behind the curtain reveals he likes his green eggs with ham.”
Bell, who then moved to her Gossip Girl co-star Leighton Meester’s table, continued, “And look who it is, not-so-lonely boy Timothée Chalamet sitting next to a hot steak, medium rare, au poivre with a side of —” Bell then interrupted and looked over at Meester, who was at the ceremony with her husband Adam Brody. “Leighton, none of this is gossip,” she complained. “It’s just all about food.”

Meester responded: “Sorry, I’m just really hungry.”
“The popes in Conclave were better at gossiping than us,” Bell said. “I think we should pass the torch.”
“Amen,” Meester replied.

Bell then introduced the Conclave cast, with the highly-acclaimed and now multi-award winning film considered one of the frontrunners for this year’s Oscars race.
But the skit throwing it back to a beloved noughties teen drama has surely only whetted the appetite for a full-length reunion. While Gossip Girl returned for a spiritual sequel without any of the original cast in 2020, there’s hope that we could see Blair Waldorf and the rest of the students from Constance Billard are up to now.
But with Meester now having joined the cast of Nobody Wants This, alongside Bell, we could be seeing another Gossip Girl reunion sooner than we think…
