LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KAIT/KARK) – Families have filed lawsuits against Act 573 of 2025, which mandates the Ten Commandments to be displayed in Arkansas schools.
According to our content partner KARK, the plaintiffs and others argue that the law is unconstitutional.
“We think that by posting a religious document for students to view every day when they’re in school, that that is an establishment of a preferred religion, and that’s against the Establishment Clause,” said ACLU of Arkansas Legal Director John Williams.
Supporters of the law say the Ten Commandments are a historical document.
