Andrea Brigitha teaches Digital video and TV production at Lake Fenton High School. She teach grades 9-12, and all of her classes are mixed grade levels. This is her seventh year teaching in Lake Fenton, and 16th year overall.
Are you involved with any clubs and or organizations?
My television production class has been so fun to teach. Students write, film and edit video announcements for the high school four days a week. We also create short videos to air on most Fridays. In addition, students are required to attend and film one live school-sponsored game, performance, or other extracurricular activity per month.
How do you connect with students?
I try to connect with my students by showing interest in their lives. I want my classroom to be a positive experience and a place they feel safe. I often think about whether I would want my own child to have me as a teacher. This thought helps to motivate me to be the best teacher I can be.
What’s your favorite thing about working in this area?
I love working in Lake Fenton. This district is very focused on community, and I love the small town feel. Both of my children are in the district and have had the best experience.
