Eric Clapton, a prominent solo artist and former member of bands like The Yardbirds and Cream, just shared major career news that got fans hyped up.
The legendary guitarist has announced that he’ll be going on a short U.S. tour this fall, beginning with his first concert on Sept. 9.
According to a press release shared with Parade, Clapton will play a total of six shows throughout September, with stops in Nashville, Tenn.; Cleveland, Ohio; Philadelphia, Penn.; Boston, Mass.; New York, N.Y.; and Uncasville, Conn.
Tickets for Clapton’s tour will be available starting with a presale on Thursday, March 6 at 10 a.m. local time, followed by the general sale on Friday, March 7 at 10 a.m. local time. Fans interested in buying tickets should check the listing for their local show, as other available presales start as early as March 4.

Clapton shared the big news with fans on social media, with many noting their excitement in the comments.
“THIS IS SO CRAZY WHAT,” wrote one ecstatic fan, while others said, “🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌This pretty rocks 🎸🎶🙌🥁,” and “OMG! Yes!!”
The new tour announcement comes as Clapton prepares for upcoming concerts in Japan, England, Italy and France from April to the start of June, with his next concert set for April 14.
Clapton held a few concerts in the U.S. last year, but they were only in California. The last time he toured around the country, stopping in different states, was in late 2023.
Last fall, Clapton released his latest studio album called Meanwhile, which was his first since 2018’s Happy Xmas, although he released several live albums in the time between.
