CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (CHIPPEWA FALLS AREA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT PRESS RELEASE) – The CFAUSD responded to the security incident at Chippewa Falls High School Monday in a press release.
The Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District (CFAUSD) and local law enforcement officials jointly report the successful resolution of a security incident that occurred today at Chippewa Falls High School. Today there were a number of other “swatting” incidents targeting school districts across Wisconsin.
At approximately 12:57 PM, district officials received a bomb threat against Chippewa Falls High School, prompting an evacuation of all students and staff to the Chippewa Falls Middle School. Law enforcement responded swiftly, conducting a thorough sweep of the building and grounds, finding no credible threat to student or staff safety.
“The safety and security of our students and staff is our highest priority,” said Jeff Holmes, CFAUSD Superintendent. “Today’s response demonstrated the effectiveness of our emergency protocols and the strong partnership between our schools and law enforcement.”
Lieutenant Pabst, Chippewa Falls Police Department, stated, “Our investigation revealed this incident was a part of a number of false reports targeting Wisconsin schools. We are working closely with other jurisdictions to investigate the source of these threats.”
