INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Chameleons, an English guitar rock band known for their 1986 hit “Swamp Thing,” are set to perform at the Hi-Fi in Indianapolis tonight as part of their tour with the Psychedelic Furs.
The band, which recently released an EP titled ‘Tomorrow Remember Yesterday,’ is touring in place of The Mission, whose member Wayne had to undergo surgery. The Chameleons are also preparing to release a new album, ‘Arctic Moon,’ on September 12.
“It’s always relevant, and you always want to do something better,” Vox, the lead singer of The Chameleons explained, about their continued passion for music.
The Chameleons have been influential in the music scene for decades, with their sound resonating in progressive and gothic nightclubs.
Their upcoming album, ‘Arctic Moon,’ is described as a mature step in their musical journey, maintaining their signature style with guitars and keyboards.
The current tour was initially supposed to feature The Mission, but due to Wayne’s surgery, The Chameleons stepped in to perform alongside the Psychedelic Furs.
They are also planning an album promotion tour later in the year. The band’s influence is notable, with many young musicians attending their concerts, drawn by the band’s enduring appeal and musical legacy.
Vox and Reg Smithies, founding members, cite influences such as David Bowie, T-Rex, and early Alice Cooper as pivotal in their musical development.
Fans of The Chameleons can look forward to their performance tonight at the Hi-Fi, with doors opening at 7 PM and the show starting at 8 PM. The band’s legacy continues to inspire both old fans and new generations alike.
