The 423 Day Festival is a way to celebrate all the diversity and opportunity Chattanooga has to offer.
Vendors could be seen scattered around Miller Park on Sunday, April 20, offering fresh lemonade in tasty flavors, sweet and salty treats, and handcrafted goods woven in vibrant colors.
Local musicians also took the stage to show off their talent, representing exactly what residents say sets Chattanooga apart from any other city.
“Chattanooga has so much to offer. We’ve grown so much. We’ve seen people come into our town who are not from Chattanooga who are like, ‘it’s so homey here.’ That’s the feeling we want to give. Everybody is welcome,” says Samaria White, a local vendor at the 423 Day Festival.
That’s been the message of the festival since it began in 2022: highlighting the Scenic City’s unique culture and power of belonging.
“When community works together, it makes a difference for all of us, so being here makes me proud. I’m born and raised in the area–423 area code,” says White.
The day of joy, laughter and appreciation all fell on Easter, making it even more special.
“It means a lot, because this is the day God rose for us and for us to come together to celebrate His resurrection,” says organizer of the 423 festival Ariane Adams. “It just means a lot to come out here and to celebrate it in a positive way.”
