BROKEN BOW – Broken Bow Public Schools (BBPS) has announced a new partnership with Discovery Education
First through eighth grade teachers at Broken Bow now have access to a set of new digital tools intended to spark students’ curiosity in science and drive deeper engagement in learning.
Broken Bow will be using both Discovery Education Experience and Discovery Education Science Techbooks.
Experience is a supplemental digital resource that provides all-in-one, ready-to-teach lessons and strategies, career exploration resources and flexible assessment tools.
The Science Techbook series feature virtual and hands-on investigations, STEM activities, and instructional supports to enhance the delivery of instruction. It also includes teacher guides that offer unit, concept, and lesson overviews, print resources and pre-packaged kits that make classroom activities easy to implement.
“Creating engaging, modern, learning experiences that help students acquire the knowledge and develop the skills needed to thrive in the future is critical to meeting Broken Bow Public Schools’ goal to prepare all learners for success beyond graduation,” Superintendent Darren Tobey said in a release. “With these new resources in hand, our educators have a powerful new tool to support that mission.”
As part of the deal, Broken Bow teachers will also receive dedicated professional development from Discovery Education’s team of professional experts. Participants will learn best practices for integrating their new digital resources into instruction.
“The Discovery Education team is thrilled to be selected to support the Broken Bow School District’s efforts to enhance science education,” Discovery Education Account Executive Ashleigh Deming said. “We look forward to the integration of these resources into everyday instruction and to watching the district’s students, learn, grow and succeed.”
