Auburn Career Center and Lake Erie College have announced the launch of Lake Erie College at Auburn, an on-campus College Credit Plus partnership that will begin in the 2026–2027 school year.
According to officials, the initiative aims to expand access to transferable college coursework across Auburn’s member districts while reinforcing the vocational school’s long-standing mission of preparing students for workforce success.
Additionally, Lake Erie College at Auburn is designed to “ensure students don’t have to choose between college and career.”
Students will have the flexibility to take one, multiple, or no CCP courses while continuing to participate fully in Auburn’s hands-on, career-focused programs.
The initiative will be housed in the newly renovated Auburn Workforce and Innovation Center, transforming the former auditorium into a professional learning environment with three dedicated classrooms, officials noted, adding that renovations will start this summer.
“In my first year at Auburn, one of my priorities has been removing the false narrative families often feel they must make between college and career,” said Superintendent Joe Glavan. “This new partnership, in addition to our already strong college articulation agreements, reflects our belief that students can graduate both career-ready and college-prepared.”
He noted that fall semester offerings include College Writing I, Pre-Calculus I, and Public Speaking, while spring semester offerings include College Writing II, Pre-Calculus II, and General Psychology.
Courses will be offered in 50-minute sessions and scheduled twice daily, allowing students to attend both CCP coursework and their Auburn programs on the same day.
All courses are part of Ohio’s College Credit Plus program.
“This partnership represents an exciting expansion of access to higher education for students in Lake and Geauga counties,” said Lake Erie College President Jennifer Shuller. “By bringing CCP courses directly to Auburn’s campus, we are meeting students where they are and supporting their academic and career goals in a meaningful way.”
In addition to the coursework, Lake Erie College at Auburn will also serve as the new home of Auburn’s Education Pathways program, which provides students with an early start toward careers in education while earning college credit.
The two-year program is a collaborative effort between Auburn, Lake Erie and the Educational Service Center of the Western Reserve.
