February career events offer students multiple pathways to professional success | Today at Elon

With opportunities spanning on-campus employment, professional networking, graduate education, and career exploration, February’s events provide multiple ways for students to take meaningful steps toward their future goals.

February is shaping up to be a busy and opportunity-filled month for students, faculty, and staff looking to explore career options, secure employment, and connect with employers and graduate programs. The Student Professional Development Center (SPDC), along with campus partners, will host a series of career-focused events designed to support students at every stage of their professional journey.

Accounting Meet the Firms
Feb. 9, 2026 | 5:30–7 p.m.
McKinnon Hall in Moseley

Accounting students are invited to connect with employers at the Accounting Meet the Firms event. This networking opportunity brings together students and accounting professionals to discuss internships, full-time positions and career pathways within the field. The event is designed to foster meaningful conversations and professional connections in a focused setting.

David A. Clarke School of Law
Feb. 10, 2026 | 11 a.m.– 2 p.m.
In Moseley, right in front of the SPDC office

Students interested in law school and public interest careers can stop by the SPDC lobby to chat with representatives from the University of the District of Columbia’s David A. Clarke School of Law. As the District’s only public law school and one of six HBCU law schools nationwide, UDC Law is known for its strong commitment to public service, affordability and hands-on legal training.

Representatives will share information about UDC Law’s extensive clinical programs, scholarship and financial aid opportunities, flexible full-time and part-time options, and its diverse and inclusive community.

Networking Event – National Sports Media Association (NSMA)
Feb. 11, 2026 | 5-7 p.m.
Virtual – Registration Link

Students interested in sports media are invited to attend Breaking Through: Turning Passion Into a Sports Media Career, a virtual Sports Media Convergence Summit hosted by the National Sports Media Association.

This panel features industry leaders with more than 100 combined years of experience in sports media, including Tom Boman, vice president of broadcast operations at Learfield; Leon Carter, editor-at-large of The Athletic; and Howard Deneroff, president of Stand By Media and former executive vice president and Executive Producer at Westwood One.

The event is especially valuable for students preparing to enter the job market and looking to turn their passion for sports into a professional career. Registration is required. NSMA will send the virtual access link to registered participants on the day of the event.

Feb. 12, 2026 | 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Koury Athletics Center

Interested in a career in logistics? Stop by to meet with a recruiter from SPOT Logistics. Students can ask questions about the hiring process, learn about current and future career opportunities, and get insight into working in the logistics industry. No appointment is needed, just stop by and say hello!

Tabling Event: NC State University
School of Public and International Affairs
Feb. 13, 2026 | 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Moseley Center, in front of the SPDC office

Representatives from NC State’s School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) will be on campus to share information about their graduate programs and career pathways. SPIA prepares students to address real-world public challenges through hands-on learning in political science, public administration and global studies.

Students interested in careers in government, nonprofits, public safety or international organizations are encouraged to stop by and learn more about how SPIA develops leadership, policy, and critical thinking skills for impact at the local, national, and global levels.

All Industries Career Fair
Feb. 17, 2026 | 2–5 p.m.
Alumni Gym

Rounding out the month is the All Industries Career Fair, which connects students from all class years and academic disciplines with employers across a wide range of industries. This event offers students the chance to explore internships, career paths, and full-time opportunities while engaging with organizations eager to meet emerging talent.

Employer Information Session: Elon University
Year of Service Fellows Program
Feb. 26, 2026 | 5-6 p.m.
Virtual – Zoom Link

Students graduating in May 2026 are invited to attend a virtual information session about the Elon Year of Service Fellows Program. This program, a partnership between Elon University and community organizations in Alamance County, offers graduates the opportunity to engage in meaningful, paid service work focused on health, education and economic development.

Fellows are full-time Elon University employees for one year and receive benefits, professional development and mentorship from site supervisors and Elon faculty. Participants may also qualify for an incentive stipend if they pursue graduate school in North Carolina or accept employment in Alamance County or surrounding counties following the fellowship.
