Green Local Schools approves purchase of new video score board
GREEN — The Green Local Schools Board of Education Oct. 20 approved a bid quote from Daktronics for the construction and installation of a new video score board at the Green Memorial Stadium at a cost of $212,456 to be paid through permanent improvement funds, athletics and athletic fundraising. The board also approved a quote from Vasco Sports Contractors to resurface the high school track at a cost of $128,410 to be paid from the Building Fund.
In other actions, the board recognized the following students of the month: Lumina Koptur, Green Primary School; Julia Kukla and Ana Rak, Green Elementary School; Emory Bechter, Green Middle School; and Olivia Muzi and Kyle Plazo, Green High School.
The board also approved:
• the acceptance of a $750 donation from an anonymous donor to the high school football program;
• the employment of various certified personnel including Madison Mottice as a part-time reading instructor for six hours per day, effective Oct. 6 and Dana Kocar as a substitute teacher, effective Oct. 6; and
• the resignations of paraprofessional Biljana Kulina, effective Oct. 13 and cook Kerri Sabolesky, effective Oct. 22.
The Green Local Schools Board of Education will next meet Nov. 24 at 6:30 p.m. in Council chambers at the Central Administration Building, 1755 Town Park Blvd. The meeting also may be viewed through a link on the board’s page at greenlocalschools.org.
