Ector County ISD has announced the recent election of Johnna Rosson, Gifted and Talented Educator, to the 2025 Board of Directors as a K-12 Representative.
Rosson is in her 40th year with ECISD and she has taught at both secondary and elementary levels. Currently, she serves Blanton, Gonzales, and LBJ elementary schools.
Rosson was elected to the board and this position by the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT) membership following a selection process by the Association’s Leadership Development Committee. She will be installed into office during giftED24, the Association’s annual conference this fall.
“Being selected to serve on the TAGT board has been a life-long career goal because I am passionate about serving the needs of GT students,” Rosson said in a news release. “This organization consistently strives to improve GT instruction across the state and is the nation’s largest state advocacy group of its kind. TAGT provides a forum for exchanging ideas and information about the unique social, emotional, and intellectual needs of gifted and talented students. Serving on the board will enable me to help provide educational services to meet these needs.”
Rosson has been involved in TAGT committee and thought leadership for many years and her perspective, insights, and dedication to G/T education in Texas are tremendous assets to TAGT.
The TAGT Board of Directors serves as the governing body of the association and as such, sets strategic policy, provides general oversight and actively pursues association goals. Board members are the link between the organization and the TAGT membership. They are responsible for strategic thinking, planning and evaluating on behalf of the association.
